I’m overdue with a review for Google Glass (short version: “eeeeeeh”) but I couldn’t help but take note of the buzz around the first Google Glass “sex app”.
To clarify, this isn’t a porn app or some kind of immersive game/movie. It’s an app designed to run while you’re having sex, offering the benefit of partners being able to share their point of view with each other and pair with another mobile device for a “third point of view”.
Basically, both partners -or more if you’re having some kind of Google Glass orgy… although finding two people who (a) have Google Glass and (b) are willing to have sex with each other seem astronomically low as it is- will wear the Google Glass during the session and the app will send a live stream from the other’s point of view. If you’ve paired the app/Google Glass with other devices around your room it can also dim the lights, play music and presumably call a cab using Uber after the encounter.
If you’re running out of ideas during sex it can recommend new positions by saying “OK Glass, give me ideas”. All video footage will be erased 5-hours later (like Snapchat) so no permanent record will exist of your humiliating, shame-filled session.
Concerns exist that Google Glass has already proven to be hackable, meaning that sexual encounters could be easily stolen and streamed… but that would of course presume that anyone would be doing this in the first place.
